Time ticks away the seconds it feels it can waste
While I am having conversations with hurry and haste
Time slowly ticks, unbothered by my urgency
Uncaring if this were coffee or an emergency
Time waits, for itself and that is it
Corroding memories until we forget
History has met time and got defeated
His mere mention, gets the future heated
But time doesn’t care
He doesn’t play fair
He moves as he sees fit
So my only option is to sit
And watch time tick away the seconds he feels he can waste
While I am having conversations with hurry and haste
His fingers glide over a plastic backdrop
Yet we fear the day time will stop
Something so simple holds us in its palm
Unable to win this battle, so we remain calm
For what is there to do, when time looks at you
And you have found more than a clue
That time is mocking you
When you’re bored he waits alongside you
When you are having fun, he tries to rush you
For time, everything and nothing is true
But now I simply sit, and try to remember a time, time didn’t run me
But he even corroded that damn memory
So here I sit, simply waiting till it’s time for me go
