Chapter 94: Go Get the King

Demo looks down at the unconscious prince.
“Orja, you want to get some in?”

“What are you talking about?” Orja replies.

Demo smiles at Orja.
“He is unconscious right now. He would not know what or who hit him right now.”

Orja’s eyes turn evil. Demo walks to the corridor door and secures it. Orja stands over Zoipa, closely checking to see if he is really out. The first punch is gentle, so it can be waved off as a check to see if the prince is okay. No response. Orja realizes Zoipa is really out. Memories flash before his eyes and soon rage boils up in him.

A hail of punches rains down on Zoipa. Demo watches from afar as Orja exacts his vengeance. But after a few punches Orja starts crying while throwing his fists. He lets out a scream filled with pain and anguish as he beats the prince. Orja stops and falls to his knees, knuckles bloody and face wet with tears. His scream fills the corridor.

Demo can hear footsteps coming.
“Orja, get back into the cell and cover your hands.”

Orja moves and Demo goes back to stand over the prince. The door opens and countless guards swarm into the corridor. They part for a grand looking knight. The knight sees the bloodied and beaten prince Zoipa on the floor.
“Prince Zoipa!”

The knight rushes forward but Demo gets in his way. The knight draws his sword and swings at Demo.
“Move, you scum!”

Demo dodges the sword and counters with a punch to the stomach. The fancy armor shatters and the knight is sent backwards. Demo looks at the group of guards.
“I told you to bring the king. You have one more chance, or your precious prince dies. And you might want to be quick. He is not looking too good right now.”

Two guards refuse to listen and charge Demo with swords drawn. Demo slips through their attacks, then punches the first one into the wall. Using his momentum, he swings and kicks the other guard in the head, sending him flying into the rest. Like a row of pins, they all go down.

“I feel like I’m bullying you guys. Don’t make me the bad guy here. Just bring the king.” Demo instructs them again.

The guards take the grand knight and drag him out of the corridor.

On the upper floor of the castle, Cleus and Cyte are being shown materials, dresses, and suits when a guard barges in with several knights.

Cleus and Cyte immediately stand and ready themselves. The guard points at them.
“They are with the terrorist!”

The knights circle around Cleus and Cyte. Cleus bites his lip and Cyte grabs a needle from one of the kits. Cleus looks at the guard.
“What is going on?”

“Your servant took our prince hostage,” the guard screams.

“Demo,” Cleus and Cyte utter in unison. Cleus then raises his hands.
“I do not know what he has done. But I assure you, I am not a part of his plans.”

The queen appears behind the guard.
“We will figure that out once we have my son back. Take them away.”

Cleus keeps his hands raised.
“We are not going anywhere. I refuse to be put into a cell. It is undignified.”

The queen loses it.
“YOU DEFY ME WHEN MY SON IS IN DANGER! KILL THEM!”

Cleus spits in his hands and uses his technique to arm himself. Cyte pricks her hand, draws blood, and forms a dagger. The knights draw their swords. From behind the queen, Prince Kalonga steps forward.
“Prince Cleus, please. We do not wish you or your shadow any harm. Please understand we are in panic and we just want Prince Zoipa back.”

Cleus holds his stance.
“What does the terrorist want?”

“He wishes to meet the king, and says he will only release Prince Zoipa to the king,” Kalonga answers.

Cleus looks at the queen and Kalonga.
“Then what would you have me do?”

Kalonga gestures the knights to lower their blades.
“We would request you go back to your room while we solve this.”

Cleus studies the queen, whose face is still twisted in rage. Cyte lowers her dagger as well. Cleus then relaxes his stance.
“Lead the way.”

Kalonga bows his head.
“Thank you.”

The knights lead Cleus back to his room. Kalonga and the queen remain in the fitting room. Kalonga looks at his mother.
“That was the wrong move. You let your emotions almost cost us dearly.”

“That little bastard had the audacity to speak back to me,” the queen replies.

Kalonga shakes his head.
“He is not ours. Taking him would only complicate things. But he will get what’s coming to him. Now let us go meet father.”

They make their way to the king.
