The Devils grin

With a diamond smile I entice my luck, with mischievous eyes I tell gods to duck. My fingertips split clouds, my mouth cools suns, my words transform tragedy into a long pun. I have sealed envelopes holding the world in their chest, enabled reality to put limits to rest. Kissed stars on the lips, slept on velvet beds, painted and illustrated the content of heads. Wore titles of grandeur, besmirched with the stench of failure. I have endured torture fit for kings, yet I have slept on the melody the sea sings. Have held love tight and whispered it to let go. Cleared the debris of doubt to let the seed of creativity grow.

Plucked fruit from the trees planted by angels, then fell asleep to the sound of histories fables. I’ve smiled through it all and I’m smiling still, with tears of a clown from eyes of a god and a golden will. Content and happy yet painfully aware, with a soul filled with happiness and an empty stare. I am yet to be broken, the glue is strong, have held the hand of right and spit in the face of wrong. I’ve done everything I set out to do, to my inner voice I stayed true. Kissed the rays of light, talked to the darkest night, convinced my aching soul everything is all right. I have obtained the devils grin, his smirk lingering. My eyes set ablaze, my goal is to amaze, I’m stuck in my childish ways. When I leave know I didn’t regret a thing, and always remember my devils grin.
