Do me a favour, imagine yourself walking to your refrigerator
Take out a drink have a sip and while you’re at it have a snack
Then please put that drink back, and turn on your tv and zip till you hit channel 30, then turn it back off and then go to your laptop
Go to YouTube; find that one video you love to watch
And have another snack while you do, and then when it’s through
Go to Facebook and tell everyone about your day
Then imagine yourself grabbing your phone and texting all your loved ones and them replying back
Then walk to your window look outside to see the sun looking back
Then lay down in your bed grab your blanket and cover yourself up
Then look at the ceiling and I want you to remember that feeling
Then, please run down the list of all the things wrong in your life
How you got sick that one time, and it took ages till you got better
How your family isn’t perfect and they get on your damn nerves
How you and your mom just keep bumping heads ‘cause she’s too damn selfish, but you do what you can to get the life you deserve
And you’re frustrated with your inability to travel the world
You don’t have enough money to pay the bills on time
You feel like the world is out to get you, so much on your mind
I get it, your life is hard
But now imagine you couldn’t walk to your fridge
Imagine there’s no drink for you to get, no food let alone a snack
There’s no TV for you to turn on the only entertainment you have is watching people pass you by that don’t care about you
Everyone you’ve ever known and loved is gone
Your bed is the ground and your blanket is a collection of leaves you found on the way to it, your ceiling is the stars
Your mother’s on crack the rest of your family doesn’t want anything to do with you, the wind’s the only thing willing to listen to you
Now recall that feeling I told you to remember
Compare the two, then tell me you would switch places
It’s very easy to take for granted what you have
