Constantly reaching for an illusion
Received a concussion from constantly trying to shake off confusion
It dresses up to hide the fact that it’s a dream
Its constantly tries on a new look to make me think its clean
Achievable goals surround it, so it seems safe by association
Never once questioning its true motivation
Or my own … being alone ruins a mind driven by ego
Eventually self-esteem reaches out as well, to reaffirm its glow
But where do you grasp when pain numbed your finger tips
What do you feel when loneliness sits on every sense
What do you think when joy is always past tense
Where do you go, no where do you grasp
Where do you look when darkness surrounds you
Who do you call when you know there is no one to turn to
Words don’t make you grasp for a dream its your heart
People don’t break you, they simply rip already open cracks apart
Make sure you staple each crack, cork each pit and place pain where you are able to forget
Never think your path is set, there is always something to grasp at
The world is never stronger than you imagine it to be
Talk but never give into insanity
Your palm can always hold the truth
Your eyes can always see the light
Your soul can always fight
Your feet can always take one step more
Your whole world revolves around its core
Never forget what made you reach out
Never forget what that illusion you are chasing, is about
