It was a weary fight. The sound of swords rang through the sky filling the clouds with sorrow as they released their sadness upon the world. The dolphins lost the battle of Seaweed Clams. It all started as a baby dolphin found its way into the realm of human dreams. It touched a sacred crystal that would forever doom any human dreamer to a world of nightmares. The humans lost in their agony eventually found their way to rage and looking for someone or something to blame, they heard a rumor. A simple rumor that by all logic at the time would have to be false. But in their anger, they never even considered other options. An old man called a Seer was asleep when the baby dolphin committed its horrendous act. He saw the whole thing while sipping cold tea on a pink cloud floating above an active volcano. He was dreaming, remember? He didn’t understand what he saw at first but eventually told his friend, who told his wife, who told the king.
They were cousins. The king, who hadn’t slept for 6 weeks, because his nightmares wouldn’t allow him finally found a target for all his anguish. The dolphins had to be served their revenge, cold, no frozen, no in a super solid state. The king’s nightmare was him being eaten by a fluffy pancake with strawberries on top. So, he had banned all strawberries and forbade his entire kingdom from eating pancakes in the morning, afternoon, or evening. They were only allowed to eat it at night when the king was asleep, so he didn’t have to smell it. But he couldn’t sleep … so he had to smell it anyway and that just made things worse. So, with the entire kingdom being frustrated, they declared war on the dolphins.
The beauty of Dolphins is clear
Soon other kingdoms followed, and they created the greatest army ever seen in this world. It was magnificent. The technology being born from their need to destroy would push their culture forward at an extremely high pace. The dolphins however were oblivious to what was going on in the human world. They were simply enjoying their time in Atlantis, hanging out and playing on their water phones. When the humans invaded the dolphins weren’t ready. Because they didn’t even know they had to prepare. It was brutal. Submarines with water feathers to tickle the dolphins into submission. Boats with band-aid swords so they could close that little hole on the dolphin’s backs. Super-fast shuffleboards that would slide under the dolphin as they jumped up out of the water. Falling like that must have hurt them. Having decimated every dolphin the humans could find, they deemed themselves the victor.
But the dolphins had some relatives that humans didn’t know about. The whales. Yes, the whales. They would have struck back were it not for our hero who was fluent in whale song. He serenaded the whale princess with a song that could soften the very core of the abyss. Our hero and the whale princess became good friends. Nothing romantic, just good friends. The princess told our hero how to enter the dream realm in his current form and find the crystal that was touched. He was told that if he told the crystal “Sorry, it won’t happen again” the crystal would set everything back the way it was. And that is how it happened. That was the first time our hero set foot into the pages of history. But it wouldn’t be his last step, far from it. But this is the kingdom from which he was born. The kingdom that started the Dolphin wars, and the kingdom that gave us our hero.
