His slumber was drenched in a peaceful dream
His awakening, by a rude and agonizing scream
Awake but his eyes still closed his mind still dozed
As he listens for another scream the question is posed
“What was that scream and why did it occur”
He opens is his eyes, was expecting a blur
The one you get, when your eyes need to adjust
One of life’s certainties and in which he did trust
In darkness he sleeps, so light, if any must creep
Then fear took a huge leap, this night was eerie deep
Not a glimmer of light was to be found
But the screams, yes the screams were all around
They slithered across the hallway, bellowed through his window
Shrieks of confusion, as the night missed the moons glow
No ray of hope, no shimmer of shine, now fear finds his mind
As he realizes there is nothing his vision can find
Not the crack in the ceiling, not the sheets he is under
Not the floor, NOTHING, his courage ripped asunder
Tries to maintain composure and forces himself to wonder
Why all light has gone he now starts to really ponder
No street lights, not even a standby light on his pc screen,
This is beyond a dream, once again overtaken by a scream
But he now understand the cause
Unable to fix it, he undergoes a pause
In which clarity finds him and he deduces it must be a delusion
An intrusion, created by stress and insomnia undergoing a fusion
Swings his feet to the side and for a moment he does stall
For if this is an illusion in darkness he will fall
But if this is reality, in naked darkness he will stand tall
And then it is true, that light has gone without a clue
Leaving mankind to fend for itself without a hint of what to do
With his last shred of courage, he leans back and then hops out
His feet meet the ground, and as they do he starts to shout
“What the FUCK is going on”
…
Mother earth created clouds so thick, light couldn’t shine through
Volcano’s and Tsunamis, gave chaos the freedom to do whatever it wants to
Ravaged each city’s plant or energy supply
